At Monte Holiday Ecoturismo, we are firmly committed to minimising our impact and caring for the environment surrounding us.
That is why we have been working for several years on this project, which aims to become a benchmark for villages, housing developments, campsites, rural hotels surrounded by forest areas, and all those willing to reduce the risk of wildfire in the forest-urban interface.
The MH + BOSQUES (forest) project seeks to reduce the likelihood of fires in and around our ecotourism facilities by reducing combustible forest biomass. Maintenance is carried out through managed cattle grazing and controlled clearing and pruning.
Similarly, the second objective of this initiative is to generate clean energy from the collected biomass to become a 100% self-sufficient campsite using 100% locally sourced renewable energy.
In short, this project is the result of an idea of regenerative tourism that has finally emerged after years of hard work and dedication of our entire team.
A dream that has come true and for which we are proud to receive recognition. In fact, in 2023, Monte Holiday Ecotourismo was awarded as the Best Innovative Practice of 2023 at the Expobiomasa’23 Fair.

Monte Holiday Ecoturismo has launched the MH+FOREST project. It consists of coordinated measures in our tourist facility located in the Sierra de Madrid. These measures focus on forest management to help adapt the surrounding forest to climate change, prevent wildfires and use biomass in the campsite’s heating network, thus preserving the forest and neutralising the carbon footprint.
